Fifteen Londoners aged 18 to 24 years old worked for five weeks to respond photographically to the brief: What is your London?
The resulting images explore stories as varied as identity, belonging, home, memories and propose a creative and often surprising view on London.
One city, one brief, fifteen photographers. For many, the idea of London conjures up postcard pictures: the London Eye, Buckingham Palace. These are the depictions of the city we’re used to seeing in the media, advertising and the press.
In partnership with It’s Nice That, Anyways and Lecture in Progress, Create Jobs and Magnum Photos collaborated with fifteen photographers aged 18 to 24 and invited them to respond individually to an open brief exploring the subject of London and what the city means to them.
Supported by the Berkeley Foundation, Creativity Works is a Mayor’s Fund for London programme made up of industry- led training courses for the creative industries. This Visual Storytelling course was co-created and co-delivered with industry experts for participants to develop their real-world experience. Real briefs, real work, real business, real opportunity.
