What Goes On
What Goes On is just that. It was a difficult journey of trying to find out what exactly goes on behind the scenes of London.
I learned people are inclined to say no, they're inclined to keep what's private, private and afraid of getting into trouble if they don't. So my piece of work evolved. Into a display of kindness; the kindness of saying yes, the vulnerability of letting me in.
It's the nervous cast allowing me to see their process during rehearsals. It's the labourers allowing me to document their everyday job of laying a new road. And it's the relationships I made along the way that allowed me a tour of the tombs that lay beneath one of our most beloved hubs of culture. All could have said no, just like everyone else but they didn't.
Perhaps I should have named this series "Yes".
